Judo and  Ju Jitsu klub ,,Stara Varoš”- Podgorica were founded in September  2009 by Mladen Jokmanović and  Marko Jokmanović , still active competitors,  with an aim to promote our sports and make a serious, modern combat club in Podgorica.

We are named after  the oldest urban settlement of the capital city, which still keeps the special spirit of the Podgorica from the past, praised in many old songs.

In a very short period of  time  we made a serious success. After only 7 months of training we made our debut as a club at the Montenegrin Ju jitsu championship held in May 2010 and we won 14 gold, 10 silver and six bronze medals, all in fighting discipline.

That made „Stara Varos“ a serious force on martial arts map of Montenegro.

After that we continued winning numerous medals both  Judo and Ju jitsu national championships and  international tournaments and competitions, and this is just the beginning.

We function as one family, offering our members the opportunity to train and compete in both, Judo and Ju jitsu, and by doing  that expand views and increase the efficiency as fighters, or simply to  choose the one of the arts that suits them the most.

Our members are of all ages, no matter the sex and other divisions. We are doing our best to create a pleasant, positive, team atmosphere and with dedication and hard work we will do our best to make you stronger both physically and mentally by using the way of martial arts.

The members of Judo / Ju jitsu klub "Stara Varoš" train Judo and Ju jitsu as complete martial arts, meaning:

• Judo, on the emphasis on matwork (NE WAZA), all kinds of throws and Atemi waza. Both in sport and self defense aspect.
• Sport Ju jitsu – including the knowledge and skill of the fighter in all elements of the fight, incorporating the equal usage of striking part (Karate) and grappling parts (Judo, BJJ) as much as possible.
